Top 8 Ways to Fix Mobile Hotspot Shutting Down Internet on Windows 11

Windows 11 OS has a handy Mobile Hotspot feature to share your laptop or computer’s internet connection with nearby devices. Lately, some users have complained about the system shutting down the internet when connected to other devices via mobile hotspot. If you face the same, read along to learn to fix the issue.

Windows 11 shutting down the internet during an active mobile hotspot connection defeat the purpose of using it in the first place. You won’t want to end up with no internet connection on your computer. Follow the troubleshooting tricks below to tackle the problem.

1. Retry

You can temporarily disable a mobile hotspot on the PC and enable it again to connect a device to fix the issue. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open Windows 11 Settings menu (use Windows + I keys).

Step 2: Select Network & internet from the left sidebar.

Step 3: Disable the Mobile hotspot toggle.

Step 4: Wait for a minute and enable the Mobile hotspot again.

2. Share Mobile Hotspot Over Bluetooth

Step 2: Select Mobile hotspot.

Step 3: Expand Share over and select Bluetooth.

3. Change Network Properties and Try Again

Incorrect network properties will lead to connectivity issues on connected devices and your main computer. You can try tweaking network properties if the mobile hotspot still shuts down the internet connection.

Step 2: Expand Properties.

Step 2: Select System and open Troubleshoot menu.

Step 3: Select Other troubleshooters.

Step 4: Run the Internet Connections troubleshooter.

7. Run Incoming Connections Troubleshooter
