Top 5 Ways to Fix Missing ‘App & Browser Control’ in Windows 11

1. Access ‘App & browser control’ via Alternative Ways

If ‘App & browser control’ doesn’t appear in the Windows Security app, use alternative ways to find the same on your Windows 11 PC.

Start Menu

You can easily open ‘App & browser control’ from the start menu.

Step 1: Press the Windows key and search for ‘App & browser control’.

Step 2: Hit the Enter key and open it in the Windows Security menu.

Windows 11 Settings Menu

Windows Security is a part of the OS Settings menu. You can find and open ‘App & browser control’ from the Settings app as well.

Step 1: Open Windows Settings menu by pressing Windows + I keys.

Step 2: Search for ‘App & browser control’ in the search bar.

Step 3: Press the Enter key to open it.

Windows Run Menu

You can open ‘App & browser control’ via the Run command as well.

Step 1: Press Windows + R keys to open the Run menu.

Step 2: Type the following command.

2. Delete Corrupt Folder on Windows

Corrupt files in the SecurityHealth folder can lead to missing ‘App & browser control’ on Windows 11. Here is how you can identify and remove such folders on your PC.

Step 1: Press Windows + E keys to open the File Explorer menu.

Step 2: Click the address bar at the top and paste the following path.


Step 3: Find a folder named ‘1.0.2109.27002-0’ and delete it.

It’s a leftover folder that the system saved from the previous update. Empty your PC’s Recycle Bin and restart it.

3. Use Group Policy Editor to Enable App & Browser Control

Group Policy Editor allows you to disable the ‘App & browser control’ on Windows. Here’s how you can check and enable the option.

Step 1: Press the Windows key and search for ‘Group Policy Editor’.

Step 2: Head to the following path in the Group Policy Editor.

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Security > App and browser protection

Step 3: Double-click on ‘Hide the App and browser protection area’ option.

Step 4: Click the radio button beside ‘Non-Configured’ and hit OK.

Restart your PC and open the Windows Security app again. You should see the App & browser control option. You can also make tweaks from the Registry app to enable the missing ‘App & browser control’ in Windows 11.

4. Reset Windows Security App
